How long does a full rock tumbling cycle really take?

For someone buying their first tumbler, what timeline should they realistically expect from rough stone to finished polish?

For typical hardness stones, about 4 weeks: 7 days coarse, 7-10 medium, 7 pre-polish, 7 polish. Softer stones need less. Skipping stages is the number one reason stones never shine.
