Why does PETG love to stick to the nozzle?

PETG can sometimes accumulate around the nozzle and eventually leave blobs on a print. What adjustments usually help?

PETG is sticky when molten. Fix it with slightly higher retraction, a brass-brush nozzle clean between prints, and a small wipe move. A silicone sock on the heater block helps a lot too.
